May Is Employee Health And Fitness Month

Spring trends may come and go, but one thing never goes out of style: employee health and wellness. Whether it's getting outside to go for a walk or participating in physical events around the community, Spring is a great time to get outside because, well after that long winter, you deserve it. In honor of Employee Health and Fitness Month check out these ways your business can participate.

#1. Join A Local Event

There are many activities you can do in your hometown or in a city near you that encourage you and your employees to get fit. Consider joining a local 5K or a charity fundraising race. Doing so will get your business involved in the community and will also encourage healthy habits.

#2. Create an At Work Competition

Who doesn't love a little friendly competition? Start a fitness competition at your office to encourage people to get out and get moving! Keep the goals attainable, but challenging. Some ideas include minutes worked out in a week, time spent outside, and steps walked among others.

#3. Host At Least One Meeting Outside

We know this is easier said than done, but make an effort to bring at least one meeting during the month of May to the outdoors. Do team bonding? Instead of the bar, how about the local park or even the patio at a restaurant. Getting some fresh air is an easy way to increase employee happiness that release healthy endorphins.
