It's finally spring time, and we all have an itch to get outside and enjoy the nicer weather. But what happens when you work a sedentary office job and can't find the time to workout or get outside? These simple workouts are quick and easy, and may even bring you outside to enjoy the fresh air. Try these workouts below:
1. Run/Jog Outside
Jogging or running is a great way to get your heart rate moving if you work a sedentary desk job. Get up from your desk and go for a stroll around the office, or better yet, enjoy the warmer weather and get outside in the spring sunshine! Take a walk around the block to get your heart rate up and to clear your head. Or better yet, have a meeting with a fellow co-worker while walking. Nothing better than getting business done while improving your health! Try for a minimum of 100 paces a minute. Do this once or multiple times a day to improve your cardiovascular health.
2. Lift Your Knees In The Air
Similar to hamstring curls, knee lifts work out your legs and squeeze in some cardio for the day. When strolling outside consider lifting your knee in front of your body as your arms move down. Don't have the ability to walk around the block? Consider the parking lot or even stairs in the building as a viable alternative. Do this for 20 reps to work your quadriceps. Bad weather outside? You can do this knee lift at your desk or even in the break room.
3. Building Pushups
This exercise you can do at your desk or outside! If you feel like getting outside, find a flat surface on the side of your workplace building. After taking a brisk walk try placing your hands on the side of the building in a pushup position, and simply push up and down. Do this for 10 reps, then perhaps take a brisk walk back inside. To do this exercise indoors simply use your desk and perform reps that way using as much force as you can to push up.
